Huawei HMS App Innovation Contest aims to inspire talented students and developers across the globe to create seamless, smart, and innovative applications, and explore the future of digital intelligence.
This contest is open to developers from all over the world on the global contest site.
To make this reality, our team will equip you with open and free to use Huawei HMS Core capabilities that provide over 65 services & 15K scenario-based APIs. For instance, with Huawei ML capability, you can help create intelligent waste classification solutions that help people accurately sort domestic waste, or Map kit empowers you to create green travel solutions that encourage to people to walk or cycle instead of driving etc. All the SDKs are Android based, so you will find the tools convenient to use.

Round 2: Preliminary Review and Finalist Announcement The judging panel will review the submitted works and select 20 works from each region for the Public Review and Finals stages. |

Round 3: Public Review Shortlisted works will be exhibited on the contest’s official website and HUAWEI AppGallery during a global promotional period until 24:00 on 23rd September (GMT+2), and further selections will be based on the number of votes and downloads that each shortlisted work receives from the public. |

Round 4: Finals Each region will hold its own finals in October. The judging panel will rank the 20 shortlisted works according to a comprehensive scoring formula, in which the judging panel and public rating scores are added. |

What to build: Create mobile applications that integrate HMS open capabilities. Please note that 1 team can submit up to 5 projects.
What to submit:
- After integrating HMS Core, submit the work on the contest’s official website or Devpost.
- Enter the app name and ID
- Provide a description of your work and its features and functionality
- Upload attachments with APKs and supporting documents

Judging Criteria

Design, technology, and user experience (20 points)
Is stable and functional in real life and features impressive interactions, a user-friendly interface, and outstanding visual and sound effects. -
Originality (30 points)
Comes endowed with distinctive and innovative attributes which cannot be found in similar apps and remain attractive to users. -
Social value (30 points)
Addresses an issue of widespread concern and offers new solutions for a specific user group and/or scenario. -
Bonus points (20 points)
10 points will be added if the app is successfully released on AppGallery and a maximum of 10 points shall be added for integrating HMS Core capabilities.
